Highschool students to run Provincial Capitol

SAN JOSE, Antique – For a month, highschool students will run the Provincial Capitol as part of the Boys and Girls Week Program of the Rotary Club of Antique. Chuckie Dela Cruz will sit as Governor with Liezel Margie Lou Bastran as his Vice Governor. The Sangguniang Panlalawigan SP in the North District is composed of Marjan Tam Casapanan, Ronalyn Faith Soriano, Roy Cedric Flores, Elvin Copias, Femadelle June Orera while in the South District are Princess Eden Macabata, Jessa Dela Cruz, Arlyn Demafiles, Doris Quiyo, and Kristine Joy Estares Balontong. Choosen ex-officio board members are Michelle Española (as Liga President), Jonald Tuna (Provincial Councilor’s League), Alyssa Gem Untal (SK Federation President) and Samer Asejo (SP Secretary). At the helm of departmental positions in the provincial government are Rod Kevin Pantinos (Provincial Auditor), Glenn Queman (HRMO), Jezzel Barceno (PEEDO), Precious Joy Flores (Provincial Accountant), Beverlyn Lagrimas (Treasurer), Paul Ian Esler (Budget Office), Nelson Marcelino (Assesor), Ace Norbe (Coop), Jaica Monique Pando (Agriculturist), Bridgette Alfane (Provet), Roderick Aquino (PSWDO), Analie Abagat (Popcom), Esperval Cezhar Cadiao (PEO), Joy Andeline Nava (Tourism), Bella Cristy Lacuron (PGSO), Manilya Tano (PHO), Rita Marie Macabanti (ENRO). Dela Cruz said sitting as a provincial government official is not only exciting but also a learning process on how the provincial government works to serve the populace. He said they are learning how the government really works and its “complicated system” in delivering services to the people. These students-officials have started their duties on October 19. there were selected among hundreds of other students recommended by various secondary schools in the province. |
